Can one cat’s kittens breast feed off a different pregnant cat as well as the original cat?
My cat had 3 kittens a year ago. I kept them, but she got pregnant again (and yes, I know I need to get her fixed) and recently had them. I’m giving these away, but my problem now is that one of the original kittens from last year might be pregnant and she’s trying to get the new kittens to feed off her as well as the actual mother.
Is this good/bad/should I stop it?
You don’t need to worry. My cat Zuri had babies 8 weeks ago, and her daughter from zuris first litter had kittens 4 weeks ago,but while aya(the daughter) was pregnant and even afterwards,she was feeding zuris litter. and after aya had her babies,even though both litters were in seperate rooms,zuri and aya would take turns feeding each litter!!! it should pose no problem at all for your cats unless having the pregnant one feeding mamas babies is stressing her out. if it is then stop the pregnant one,but cats are communal and so they should be fine.
